A Day of (Somewhat) Peace

Jamers and I were pretty proud of all our hard work over the last three days. So proud that we treated ourselves to dinner at one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, Puccini's! Although their air conditioning was somewhat on the fritz at a very inopportune time, the food delivered, as always!

We both got dinner salads, which we get pretty much every time we go. I ordered mine with no black olives (yuck!) and their homemade Dijon vinaigrette dressing. Delicious!

Then we split a medium 'Margherita' pizza, which was equally awesome. It has fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, oregano and fontina cheese! Jamers will even have leftovers to eat for dinner tonight.

It was so incredibly hot yesterday that we felt the day wouldn't be complete without a cold, sweet treat. We hit up a new frozen yogurt place nearby called Fro Yo Premium Frozen Yogurt and we were not disappointed. I opted for a chocolate-peanut butter swirl with a little sprinkle of Butterfinger topping.

Someone failed to realize that this was a self-serve restaurant with only one cup size and that you pay by weight when he filled up his red velvet with graham cracker topping.

His name shall remain anonymous. :-)

Afterwards, we headed home and watched 21 Jump Street before hitting the hay. The plot was so-so, but I can never complain about the eye candy that Channing Tatum delivers!

Speaking of Channing, I am going to see one of this summer's most talked about movies, Magic Mike with a couple of my fellow HR ladies tonight! It is sure to be a good time!

Breakfast today was nothing terribly special. We had strawberry-banana-mango smoothies.

Then we did some final touch ups with the office paint and headed out to return the dreaded scaffold we rented and do some 'window shopping' for some of the furniture we want to put in the office. Things we need:
  • New desk chair
  • Bookcase
  • Area rug
  • Display table
  • New lamp
Plus we price pointed some carpeting that we hope to install in the front room soon. More to come about that! I think we'll find most of the things we need at Home Goods and Target, and we plan to go back tomorrow to make some actual purchases.

We stopped for lunch at Paradise Bakery where I enjoyed their seasonal Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken  Salad. It was full of fresh fruit, flavorful chicken and crunchy pecans.

Stop drooling already! Well, I need to finish getting ready for my girl's night out, so until next time!
